LiA Week 5: Las Sabinas
This week, everything came together in the puppet show stage: jacarandas, graffiti messages, and subtle references to resilience, feminist empowerment, and the peripheries. Here’s the story behind the design.
LiA Week 4: Las Sabinas
Week four in CDMX moved fast. Our Las Sabinas puppets are almost complete, and we started building the stage for the shows. We also heard from Genera Territorios about rural women and beekeeping, rested in Polanco, and reflected on leadership through the 3C model.
LiA Week 3: Las Sabinas
The third week began with me getting sick and taking Monday and Tuesday off. Wednesday, we visited Hagamos Composta and learned how organic waste becomes compost. Thursday, we built puppets for Las Sabinas to facilitate conversations on gender-based violence.
LiA Week 2: Las Sabinas
This week was a big shift from learning about leadership to using it in real time. We practiced design thinking to ideate puppet concepts focused on preventative gender violence and building agency, responsibility, and body awareness.
LiA Week 1: Las Sabinas
Here's my first week's reflection on the central LiA with make_sense Americas at Mexico City. This week I met 14 other scholars and built amazing friendships. We also met the organization we'll be working with: LAS SABINAS!!! I'm very excited to learn more and contribute to their feminist cause!
