It has been such a privilege to follow along with your journey these last few weeks Samantha. You have a way of working with others that is so important and beneficial when doing critical, yet difficult work like that of Yahad-in-Unum. You approach difficulties with persistence and positivity, and I'm glad that this benefited you during your time in France.
Thank you for sharing this Allie. You provide a beautiful yet stark view of life at the border that is already proving an education, at least for me. Consciously, many of us in the US but away from the US-Mexico border know the impacts of US immigration policy on local communities but the examples you provide here are still enlightening. To understand the day to day and life altering impacts not just on those seeking a better life but also those who have ancestral rights to and have lived on the land for generations is unfortunately not shocking. However the work that BCA and the other organizations you plan to highlight are providing hope and light at a time when it is needed most.
Congratulations on starting your LiA Samantha! It sounds like a busy first week. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your time with Yahad in Unum.
Jeff, it's been amazing following your work over the course of the summer. Thank you for this window into your experience and everything that you've learned and accomplished in the name of BiD's clients. I'm looking forward to reconnecting when you're back on campus and hearing about everything that you couldn't fit into your posts.
Thanks for these updates Andrew! I'm sorry to hear about the housing issues. Don't hesitate to contact me if more or other problems arise! I'm looking forward to hearing more about your time in France.
Wonderful updates Marwa! I'm glad that things are starting off well. What a great idea to reach out to your friend and use your networks to continue learning and hone some skills to help your current organization! @Andrew Swank mentioned in his post that he also needs to brush up on his French. Even though you're in different places, maybe you can be accountability buddies together on your language acquisition? Just a thought! Keep up the great work!
This is fantastic Cynthia! I'm so glad that your summer if off to such a great start. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the students and the work you all are doing for the community in Bangkok.
We all may have helped provide you the resources, but you're the one who took them and did the hardest part of meeting your goals this summer. You worked so hard and accomplished a lot in a very short amount of time. I hope you're proud of everything you've done this summer!
