Week 6:

What went well?

Building relationships with my team members at AFC went well.  I was able to meet with my mentor to discuss the progress I have made over the past 6 weeks and the steps that I can take in the future.

What could have been done differently?

I could have reached out to my mentor more proactively throughout my 6 weeks at AFC.

What did I learn about myself while working with others?

I learned that I have strengthened my communication skills throughout my project. I have demonstrated concise communication, active listening, and adaptation of my communication style to different individuals and settings.

What did I learn about leadership?

I learned that an important part of leadership is delegation and empowerment. One person can’t do everything. Assigning tasks based on individuals’ strengths and having a sense of autonomy within the team allows for the most efficient completion of tasks.

What do I want to develop or focus on next?

I hope to continue applying the leadership skills I have developed as part of my Leadership In Action Project to other parts of my personal and professional life.
