Project Goal:
The primary goal of this LiA project was to leverage digital and analytical skills to enhance the operational effectiveness and societal impact of child welfare initiatives, with a specific focus on supporting premature infant care under the Chunmiao Foundation. The project aimed to move beyond initial technical implementation plans toward fostering systemic support through improved public engagement, awareness, and fundraising strategies.

Project Objectives:

  • To develop a comprehensive understanding of China’s child welfare ecosystem, including policy impacts and existing aid infrastructures.
  • To identify and analyze both online and offline channels used by the Chunmiao Foundation for promoting awareness and soliciting donations.
  • To assess public perception and engagement related to premature infant care through direct volunteer participation and data analysis.
  • To formulate actionable, evidence-based recommendations for optimizing the foundation’s communication, storytelling, and donor interaction strategies.

Outcomes:

  • Delivered a practical set of data-informed recommendations aimed at enhancing offline event placement, booth design, volunteer communication training, livestream engagement, and narrative techniques.
  • Provided insights derived from SQL-based analysis of livestream interactions and Excel-driven visualization of audience sentiment, leading to proposed enhancements in content structure and transparency in fund usage reporting.
  • Highlighted the critical role of integrated aid networks—combining social workers, medical institutions, and family support—and affirmed the value of empathetic, story-driven public outreach.
  • Ultimately contributed to strengthening the foundation’s capacity to offer financial, informational, and psychological support to families of premature infants, thereby reducing abandonment rates and improving care continuity.
