Ejaj Ahmad talks about how the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) grew from being a social enterprise, living room project, to one of the most trusted and sought after leadership development platforms in Bangladesh. The talk further includes a wider discussion on the subjects of  online education and how leadership learning can be made accessible to everyone, as well as the challenges of change and resilience we are currently facing.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

A graduate of the University of St Andrews and Harvard University, Ejaj Ahmad is passionate about teaching, entrepreneurship, and public service.

With a strong focus on leadership, the most prevelant exapmles of Ejaj's passion is the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC). In only 10 years is has grown from being a social enterprise, $10K living room project, to one of the most trusted and sought after leadership development platforms in Bangladesh with 80+ full-time staff and a $2M+ yearly operating budget. Drivng BYLC forward, Ejaj is now helping to create the next generation of high impact entrepreneurs through incubation and investment support.

Along the way Ejaj has become a saught-after guest speaker (including appearances at TEDx Dhaka), and received numerous honours and awards for his entrepreneurship, leadership development, and contribution to society.

The Laidlaw Scholarship Programme in Research and Leadership is sponsored by a generous donation from The Rt Hon Lord Laidlaw of Rothiemay, an honorary graduate of the University. This exciting programme equips students with the skills and values to become the leaders of tomorrow in their chosen discipline and beyond University. Over two years Scholars complete a bespoke, intensive leadership training programme. In addition, they participate in two periods of research during which they work on designing, pursuing and reporting a research question in collaboration with an academic in their chosen School.
