About Nicolas Robson

Hi, I'm Nicolas, a Micro-Engineering student at EPFL (Switzerland) who loves a nice conversation and helping out.

As part of EPFL's 2023 Laidlaw Cohort, I spent my Research internship using robotics to study honeybees, then doing my LiA developing robotics solutions to help protect the Great Barrier Reef.

Feel free to contact me for anything, from nanotechnologies and robotics to flyfishing :)

Wow, this is fascinating, Nicolas!  I've read a bit about the challenges honeybees face but had no idea about the technology and methods being employed to study them in-depth. Your poster lays everything out so clearly and compellingly. I'm intrigued by the intersection of biology and tech here. Keep up the fantastic work – our bees (and we!) need researchers like you.

Thank you so much for your comment and feedback, Princess Agina ! Very appreciated. The biology here mostly resides in the applications of the monitoring system, and in making sure the bees are accepting this 'artificial' environment and minimizing the chances of them acting differently as they would in the depth of a natural beehive, due to outside stresses/perturbations. Best, Nicolas.
