About Celine Chien

Hi! My name is Celine and I'm an undergraduate at Columbia University studying Economics-Political Science and Hispanic Studies. In addition to these topics, I also enjoy learnings about China-Taiwan history and politics. 

A big part of my interests and passions also lie in journalism. I work as a student journalist at the Columbia Daily Spectator, where reporting on university news. I love studying the things I do because the allow me to tell stories and learn about people from across the world, just as journalism allows me to do here at Columbia. 

In my free time, I also love cooking, baking, running, listening to music–maybe occasionally singing some karaoke–and spending time with my friends.

Hi Tomas! I loved reading your reflection and really resonated with your thoughts on how incredible it is that we are all approaching many of the same topics with such diverse and unique lenses. It felt so cool being in the room the first day of the program because you could just feel how passionate everyone was about their own interests and projects. I also really resonated with your comment about time management. Given that a lot of the time is up to us to decide how we want to go about our research, I'm also a bit worried that I will not have enough time to sufficiently produce the results that I want within these six weeks.
