This week, beyond handling the logistical side of the career training event, my primary responsibility was facilitating job matching and reviewing job application, which proved both challenging but fulfilling. Many forward-thinking companies across Hong Kong have stepped up to support equal opportunities by creating tailored work experience programs for minority students. However, we noticed these valuable initiatives often weren’t reaching the students who needed them most. That is why our role is to ensure these opportunities reach as many students as possible.

We act as a bridge between companies and minority students—matching applicants with suitable positions and referring them to firms. This helps reduce information gaps in the job market. I find this work incredibly rewarding because the impact is immediate and tangible. Just last few years, the team helped many students land work experience program at different firms. Stories like these demonstrate how we are not just reducing information gaps, but actively changing trajectories. Seeing students secure opportunities because of our efforts gives me a strong sense of achievement.
