LiA Week 2 learning log
This week I provided public health lessons to the schoolchildren at Jagriti Sewa Trust, India.
What went well: The culturally relevant public healthcare lesson was a huge hit, with some notedly shy kids participating as well.
What could have been done differently: Quite a few students had a hard time understanding the content of the vaccine lesson. After speaking to teachers and struggling students after class, I realized I could have presented the concept in a more simplified manner.
What did I learn about myself when working with others: I teach best when there is participation from the students.
What did I learn about leadership: A good leader doesn't focus on those who are already doing well; rather, it is important to focus on those who are struggling to ensure everyone gets the content.
What do I want to focus on developing next: A way to make my lessons easier to understand, regardless of content.
