Happy Birthday, Malala!
Malala Yousafzai (July 12, 1997-) is a Pakistani activist for women's education, UN Messenger for Peace and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate.
At the age of 15, Yousafzai survived an assassination attempt for her activism against the Taliban's ban on girls' education. After gaining international recognition following the incident, Yousafzai founded the Malala Fund "for a world where every girl can learn and lead," and co-authored I Am Malala, an international bestseller.
In 2014, she received the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Kailash Satyarthi of India, in recognition of their efforts on behalf of children’s rights. Aged 17 at the time, she was the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate.
