For weeks 2-3 of my LiA experience, I am getting more involved with all different teams at the museum to coordinate the opening of the new exhibition at the start of June. I have continued working with the Communications and the Public Relations teams to organise a slew of social media content to promote not only the exhibition opening, but also our regular programming that is continuing to chug along in the background. The installation has begun in the gallery and I have also become an ad hoc photographer in order to put together teaser content to get the public excited about the upcoming pieces. I am grateful that I have won the trust of many members of the team here and they now feel more comfortable letting me work independently on various tasks, but it is interesting to observe the variation in management styles. I also look forward to being assigned responsibilities for several new projects that are scheduled for several months in the future; although I will not be around to see the events come to fruition, the increased level of collaboration with the curatorial and production teams for these events will be a valuable experience for me in and of itself.
