Hiring: Events & Marketing Intern at the Laidlaw Foundation (August-September)
Role: Laidlaw Scholars Conference Intern
Location: London (Hybrid – Wed–Fri in-office)
Duration: 3 weeks (with the opportunity to extend an additional week)
Dates: Wednesday 26 August – Wednesday 16 September 2026
Compensation: London Living Wage
Eligibility: Laidlaw Scholars and Alumni only

Are you a current or former Laidlaw Scholar eager to deepen your impact, gain hands-on experience, and support mission-driven work? We are looking for an Events and Marketing Intern to join the Laidlaw Foundation team this summer for a short-term, high-impact opportunity.
🧠 What You’ll Do
You’ll be an integral part of our efforts in the lead up to the Laidlaw Scholars conferences and Elevate Laidlaw Women’s Event, helping us better engage with our community and elevate our brand. Responsibilities include:
Marketing & Communications
- Deliver final-stage marketing and communications activity, including scheduling social media content and updating website copy with confirmed speakers, sessions, and logistics
- Publish final programme schedules and speaker pages on the conference and Elevate websites
- Maintain and update Scholar FAQs and key conference information as details are confirmed
- Draft reminder and countdown communications for Scholars, speakers, and attendees
Programme & Content Support
- Finalise cross-subject cohorts and panel groupings based on confirmed attendance and programme changes
- Refine and finalise session introduction scripts for all conference sessions
- Support last-minute programme edits and speaker/session reassignments
Speaker & Stakeholder Liaison
- Create and distribute final speaker briefing packs ahead of the conferences
- Coordinate directly with speakers to confirm travel, accommodation, AV needs, and session formats
- Update and maintain all conference materials and resources shared with speakers
- Act as a central point of contact for speaker queries in the weeks leading up to the events
Logistics & Operations
- Draft and send detailed logistics communications to Scholars and speakers, including final travel, accommodation, venue access, and on-the-day information
- Support the management of conference feedback forms before the events

- Excellent written English
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel

📍 Location
Hybrid role, based in Central London. You must be available to work from our office Wednesday to Friday each week during the internship period. Unfortunately, we cannot provide travel or accommodation support.
Compensation
You will be paid London Living Wage.
