As this eventful summer comes to an end, this post celebrates a bittersweet and exciting milestone I’m proud to announce that, after months of hard work and dedication, I have completed my first summer as a Laidlaw Scholar in the Laidlaw Foundation’s Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarship Program. Over the past two months, and under the supervision of Dr. Bree McEwan, I have been conducting independent research on how the diffusion of information about COVID-19 on social media platforms influenced people’s perceptions of the pandemic in Brazil and Canada. With the project’s summer timeline nearing an end, I’m happy to share my research report with the Laidlaw network to celebrate these findings together.
