Greta Thunberg: "You are never too small to make a difference."

Greta Thunberg (2003-) is a Swedish environmental activist who tackles climate change by challenging world leaders.

Thunberg first learned about climate change when she was eight years old and soon changed her lifestyle to reduce her carbon footprint. In 2018, she missed school for three weeks to sit outside Sweden's parliament with a sign that read “Skolstrejk för Klimatet" (School strike for climate). Following the election, she continued to skip classes on Fridays to strike, calling the days Fridays for Future. Her actions inspired thousands of students worldwide to emulate her strike in their own Fridays For Future.

This week in 2019, she participated in the UN Climate Action Summit in New York City and led a week of international climate change protests attended by over four million people.

She has spoken at the World Economic Forum, European Parliament, and legislatures of multiple European countries and the US. She is a leader in the activist community and has received numerous honours and awards for her activism.
