Week 1

Since arriving in Mexico City this week the make_sense team has prioritised on preparation for the coming weeks in a multitude of ways.

Firstly, we've had workshops covering design thinking methodology to aid us in designing a solution to our central challenge & team building activities.

My team visited Rennueva (the company we are working with) in order to grasp a greater idea of how the company functions, as well as get an idea of what work we will be involved with over the next 5 weeks.

Furthermore we had a "impact tour" on Thursday in which we were taken around Iztapalapa, one of the poorest areas in Mexico City. The purpose of this trip was to witness first hand what efforts are being done to support these areas through visiting the "Utopias" that had been built to create welcoming & educational spaces for the people. Additionally, the introduction of a cable cart system has made transport around the area much safer & faster for the population.

Finally on Friday, we had a the cultural fair which was a brilliant opportunity to meet the volunteers and share aspects of British culture.
