LiA Week 5 Reflection
What went well?
The progress I made; what was achieved and done
This week we finished up our unit on voting rights and began a new unit on gender-based discrimination and Title IX. I think this week was successful at engaging the students by connecting topics discussed in class to current events.
What could have been done differently?
Things that did not get done and/or could be changed
I think this week went fairly smoothly overall and not much needs to be changed. Next week I will make sure to continue connecting class content to real-world issues.
What did I learn about myself when working with others?
Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited
I continued to learn about my organizational skills this week when working with the other teachers in my department and planning the upcoming field trip.
What did I learn about leadership?
Leadership attributes and insights I developed
I learned about leadership this week through the lens of my supervisors. Specifically, I learned more about the responsibilities and perspective that come with their administrative roles.
What do I want to develop or focus on next?
What I still need to develop
I would like to continue to develop the strategies I am using to manage the classroom. I also plan to make the lessons more accessible to students who are multilingual learners.

It's been great to follow along with your students' curriculum and your experience teaching, Jacqueline! I imagine that your students have had a lot of thoughts on the impacts of voting rights at the intersections of gender, race and class, especially as they've changed in the last few years. Looking forward to next week's update!
