In partnership with Hong Kong Jockey Club, Love 21 Foundation organised Health and Nutrition Programme, in which members with Down Syndrome and autism received dietary consultations and cooking workshops.

I collaborated with the nutritionist, Matthew, and interns in the nutrition team, Sheep and Hoyi. In continuation of the employment and development programme, we monitored and trained employees with Down Syndrome or autism to perform simple body composition analysis, such as height and weight measure. Again, I identified their strengths and encouraged their autonomy. A true leader underscores their abilities, rather than disabilities.

In Mashed Peas with Prawns and Scallops Cooking Workshop, they demonstrated cooking for members to remake the healthy dishes at home. Again, the community was empowered as active advocates, instead of passive recipients.

While the Down Syndrome and Autistic community acquired skills and confidence, I too gained fulfilment and inspiration. A true leader does not pride herself as a giver, instead, she sees one another as equals capable of mutual takeaways.
