Lia Week 4 Reflection
What went well?
The progress I made; what was achieved and done
This week, we had a special guest, Peter Cullen, the voice actor of Eeyore. The interaction between Peter and the students unfolded smoothly. As scholars, we contributed to the seamless flow of the session, culminating in the creation of a memorable gift—a T-shirt adorned with a collaborative compilation of students' artwork (from DDI program), a heart rate detector (from THY program), and a plant's need detector (from EAT program).
What could have been done differently?
Things that did not get done and/or could be changed
If we had more time to prepare the gift for our special guest, Peter, we could have facilitated a deeper engagement of students in the design process. However, the unpredictability of Peter's visit makes early preparation challenging. Thus, perhaps in the future we have to work on our time management.
What did I learn about myself when working with others?
Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited
While working with others to make a gift for our special guest, I learned more about how I handle things. I usually take a careful approach. This means I not only thought about how long it takes to print but also how much time it takes for the design to be approved. I tried to speed up the process to make sure it got approved on time.
What did I learn about leadership?
Leadership attributes and insights I developed
I learn more about taking initiative. Through collaborative discussions, we explored potential gift ideas for Peter Cullen. The exchange of proposals and deliberations over pros and cons highlighted the role of initiative in driving leadership decisions.
What do I want to develop or focus on next?
What I still need to develop
I want to focus on my networking. Strengthening my ability to establish meaningful connections will enable me to widen my network and tap into new opportunities.
