As the program comes closer to the end, everything seems more and more precious. The timeline for finishing the Huerto Roma Verde project is becoming tighter. It is this week that I have grown to develop my resilience and determination from the mix of stress and excitement.

Organization Visit to Huerto Roma Verde

We had our final organization visit to Huerto Roma Verde, which was an excellent chance for us to test out the scripted tour with the support of our fellow scholars. Isabella, Jenny, and I provided the guided tour based on the script we had composed. The trip was overall smooth and successful. It resulted in the positive feedback from the scholars. We were also grateful for all the advice on improvement from our fellow scholars. I introduced the meditation space and got feedback that the led meditation could last longer and be slower; therefore, I had a better idea of how to improve the experience we designed for the users. It was heart-warming and motivating to see everyone visiting the place we have worked on for so long. Every moment like this reminds me of what a team means.

Info Boards Making: Collaboration and Resilience

This week, we also started making the info board. Sorting out all the materials we needed and the tools we could use in the workshop was stressful. We were lucky to have our volunteers' full support, from technique confirmation to material shopping. Working with Nadia on the info boards was such a pleasant experience that I could learn so much from. I appreciated Nadia’s professional skills in woodwork as an architecture student, and I felt glad to learn to do all the cutting and polishing from Nadia and the staff in the wood workshop. Though we were stressed about whether we could finish the frames before the showcase and whether it would be sustained, we tried together to figure out the problems and gave faith to each other. Ordering the boards at the printing shop was another inspirational experience for me. Admitting the language barrier between the lady and me, we used Google Translate to communicate the printing's size, material, and content. It took us almost two hours to confirm the order. However, it was a significant experience that enhanced my communication skills.

This week’s experience taught me that developing resilience in a team involves supporting and learning from each other and collaborating with different people using communication skills.
