Under the guidance of Dr. Erika Kitzmiller, we developed a comprehensive background of the political climate of Tanzania by dissecting the apparatus of their Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and investigating the nation’s history of educational legal reforms. Within this framework, our research sought to assess the World Bank’s ability to understand the issues facing young Tanzanian women and mothers when actualizing their educational goals and effectively prescribe solutions to these identified, specific problems.

While our analysis found shortcomings within the current initiatives posed by the World Bank and their lack of attendance towards certain barriers to entry for young Tanzanian women, we propose alternative amendments that can better meet the moment. With these additions, we hope that they aid in reframing the existing narrative regarding women’s education in the country.
