This is my final week onsite for my LiA Project. This week, my main role is to help finalize the preparation stages for the summer camp. Over the past five weeks, we have developed 12 SEL courses for three different student levels. Additionally, we established classroom rules to help the children immerse themselves better in the learning environment. I feel a great sense of accomplishment with the team's efforts, and it has been a fantastic experience overall. I am grateful to the Laidlaw organization and Barnard College for providing this opportunity to explore and learn.
In addition to finishing the curriculum, I have continued supporting the teaching classes at our site. This week, I taught the final class for one of our primary school sites. Since many of our students are leaving their primary school and returning to their hometowns for middle school, I wanted to help them understand the feelings associated with saying goodbye. My last lesson plan focused on giving them the time and space to exchange contact information and say their goodbyes. Here are some pictures of the lesson and worksheets I created for exchanging contact information.
