BC 2024 Summer LiA Week 3

This week marks the third week of my LiA project, where I've been busy developing three lessons along with PowerPoint presentations and teaching guides for teachers. Our summer camp's curriculum, designed for four weeks, is based on the resources from the Sanford Harmony Official Website.
The layout of our summer camp is structured to provide a holistic learning experience for the children, focusing on emotional intelligence, social skills, and collaboration. Here's an overview of how we've organized it:
-

- Week 2: Exploring Emotions (Existing Courseware: Lesson 2 Characteristics of Emotions)
- Week 3: Emotions and Actions (Existing Courseware: Lesson 4 Thoughts, Moods, and Actions)
- Week 4: Emotion Regulation (Existing Courseware but needs modification)
-
Unit 2: Appreciating Diversity and Inclusivity
- Week 1: Celebrating Differences (Existing Courseware: Lesson 6 Special Me, Getting to Know Me)
- Week 2: Embracing Inclusivity (Actions on Inclusivity)
- Week 3: Breaking Stereotypes (Existing Courseware: Lesson 7 Stereotype Influence, Group Discussions)
- Week 4: Empathy and Support (New course required)
-
Unit 3: Effective Communication and Collaboration

- Week 2: Communication Skills (New course required)
- Week 3: Expressing Opinions and Ideas

-
Unit 4: Learning and Problem-Solving
- Week 1: Empathy and Understanding
- Week 2: Identifying and Sharing Issues
- Week 3: Problem-Solving Steps Method (Completed by Joyce)

Throughout the camp, we've integrated activities, games, and group discussions to engage the children actively. Each week builds upon the previous one, creating a cohesive and enriching experience for the campers.
Despite some challenges with classroom size, I'm optimistic about the impact our curriculum will have on the children's social and emotional development. Collaborating with my team and seeking solutions for classroom management has been a valuable learning experience, and I look forward to seeing the positive outcomes of our efforts.
