A couple weeks ago I submitted my SBER IRB protocol for my research project. You can find out more about my project here. I submitted an IRB protocol because my research involves human subjects - specifically children who use assistive technology.

Although a detail-oriented and somewhat lengthy process, I found satisfaction in orchestrating the creation of the protocol. It was inspiring to see the vision of my research slowly coming together - one consent form at a time. Although it's notoriously the most tedious part of the process, I look forward to receiving feedback from the IRB investigators and learning how to improve my protocol.

I owe a big thank you to my two mentors - Jennifer Buxton and Professor Kristen Wendell - for answering my streams of questions. Next step - some literature review and reaching out to AT professionals to widen my knowledge base and community!
