My study analyzing student and teacher perspectives on assistive technology in classrooms as been approved by the IRB. I can't even put into words what this project means to me. Thank you to my two mentors - Jennifer Buxton and Kristen Wendell - for guiding me through the IRB process.

The next step in the study's process is to dive into literature review and recruit participants. My focus for the literature review are the following topics/questions:

1. If a device is complex enough to require training, what does good and accessible training look like?

2. Principles of designing user training sessions

3. Principles for assistive tech design

4. Case studies of highly effective design

5. Case studies of highly effective training

6. Case studies of educators who are highly effective at using assistive technology

That's the latest update on this project. Thank you again to Laidlaw and my mentors for making this opportunity not only possible, but also a fulfilling one at that.
