Super proud of you for challenging your initial ideas through using your mentor and  resources to narrow down your research question and coding methods. I too have had this struggle and have had to utilize my mentor, library and graduate advisor (shoutout Nick for helping me learn python!). Additionally, I also love love love working in cafes. I’m excited to hear more of the recs that are working for you! Devocion will be my next stop!

Alisa, so excited to read your paper. Now more than ever it is so important to investigate how chatbots and LLMs are interpreting and sharing information on political disputes and events and how that is impacting news coverage. Furthermore I am interested to understand what you find (or would recommend) for private and governemental LLM regulation (especially in comparing the US and Russia). Cant wait!

The ethical questions and components of this research is super fascinating, as animal rights law (especially in experimentation) is something that I have dived deeply into while working for Assemblywoman Deborah Glick  (who chairs the environmental conservation committee). There is currently a lot of legislation in the environmental conservation committee pertaining to animal testing (and the laws which prohibit testing on certain animals but exempt other species which are commonly used for genetic and product testing). Super fascinating stuff and lots or literature on it, happy to talk more if your interested.

I definitely agree that when conducting a literature review, it can be hard to narrow in when faced with so much! If you ever want to talk about methods to narrow down and stay on track.. let me know! Would love to collaborate on studies.

I'm super excited to see where this project goes, and how you choose to analyze AI in the context of Russia-Ukraine!!
