Hello! My name is Lily, and I’m pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor in music.
My first summer research was interdisciplinary in that it included psychology, cognitive neuroscience, behavioral studies, and music. I designed an experiment about how emotional music impacts future perception and imagination. Then, I collected behavioral data to address my research question.
For my LiA, I traveled to Cape Town, South Africa with Anjelica Young, Elizabeth Wallace, and Soyu Hong to create programming for kids and child/youth care workers at SOS Children's Villages, with the support of our coordinator: Youness Robert-Tahiri. I taught poetry and developmental psychology; I co-taught visual art, music, and college/career prep workshops.
In the future, my goal is to get a PhD in clinical psychology to support the mental health of kids who survived early adversity and continue research.
I love making art, playing my violin, and reading and writing poetry. Some of my favorite books are Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke and any poetry by Langston Hughes.
Hi! I’m Poline, an engineering undergrad at the University of Cambridge. I am passionate about semiconductors and turning cars into sun-powered wonders. To do this, I’m exploring flexible perovskite solar cells that get attached to the curves of car roofs—think solar panels that bend instead of break! By tweaking their chemistry, we keep them efficient even when bent 🚗🌞
I am a History student at Durham University, and part of the 2025 Laidlaw Scholar Cohort. My first year research project explored citizenship education in relation to social cohesion, and sporting provision supporting refugee and asylum seeker integration. Following the publication of my research report, I became a member of the Academic Advisory Group to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Political and Media Literacy. I also work within UK refugee sports provision trying to drive positive change in the sector, through starting my own initiative in Durham, and spotlighting and networking with projects nationwide, through an article series I edit for ConnectSport. In my second year summer, I worked with United Through Sport in St Lucia to produce a coaching handbook for incoming volunteers, to improve their delivery of sports teaching to local children from underprivileged backgrounds.

I’m Xio, originally from Peru, and part of the 2026 cohort. I’m currently pursuing the MiM at London Business School as a Laidlaw Scholar. I come from a background in economics and finance, with a focus on analysing companies in Latin America.
Through the programme, I’m hoping to broaden my overall business perspective. I’m particularly curious about entrepreneurship and would love to explore that path further.

I come from a non-traditional MBA background, being the first in my family to attend university and to live outside my hometown in the north of the UK. An MBA was never something people from my background typically pursued, and it would not have been possible for me without the support systems and opportunities that have shaped my journey.
Over the past decade, I’ve built a career in the technology sector in London across sales and solution consulting roles at SAP and Workday, where I learned how technology can solve complex business problems and create meaningful strategic value.
I decided to pursue the MBA programme at LBS to shake up my career. My passion lies at the intersection of technology, strategy and transformation, and I’m at LBS to broaden my strategic and analytical skills as I prepare to move into corporate strategy or strategy consulting.
I am also incredibly proud to be a Laidlaw Foundation Scholar. The mission to expand access to education and develop ethical, inclusive leaders is deeply rooted in my own journey, and I really hope to use this platform to champion gender equality and open pathways for women who may not see themselves represented in these spaces yet.
Outside of work, I love all things fitness – CrossFit, long walks with my sausage dog and skiing – and I’m part of the Women’s LBS Touch Rugby Team.
