'Mwaka bwanji' as Zambian's say. 

It means ''Good morning'' , in their local language, 'chinyanja'. Unbelievable that I get to teach to kids that speak it regularly as a mother language. We get to find a middle ground each day,  to understand each others. 

During this particular week of teaching, have been assigned to teach: Phonics & handwriting, Creative Technologies Sports  (CTS), Social studies, French, English, and Expressive Art. 

My timetable was full. Teaching from pre/babies, to Grade 5/7.

I have never demonstrated creativity in the way that I have been required to do here. Creating teaching content that has to be engaging, fun and effective, it is not for the weak. So glad that the children have been so far receptive and engaged during my classes, especially with the French classes. They seem eager to learn.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Inagurations of new classrooms for the babies classes. The donation through the Laidlaw stipend, has contributed immensely to permit this to happen. I had so much joy in seeing parents admiring their kid's new classrooms.

- Timetable finalisations.

- Teached French to all the grades, including the teachers.

CHALLENGES:

- Diversify the teaching. Looking for techniques to make the teaching more engaging,

- Getting used to the timetable modifications.
