Week 6 with makesense in CDMX
Week 6:
This experience has flown by too quickly. In our final week, we finalised our deliverables to Nidaria and collected the research and surveys that we assigned to our volunteers. We started off with 24 volunteers who signed up and ended with 4-5 volunteers who were truly engaged with the project. Even though we only have such a small number of volunteers, they have been extremely engaged and have been helpful with all of our endeavours with this projects. I made sure to contact the volunteers regularly and remind them of their deadlines to ensure that the tasks are completed, which they were (thankfully!)
We also had a wrap-up meeting with Rodrigo, the founder of Nidaria. In this meeting, we gave him all our resources that we had collected throughout the project, namely the research document that we and the volunteers have been working on. We also asked for feedback on our project - what went well and what we could do better so that we can continue improving our leadership and project management skills. I found that the final stage of the design process - evaluation - is very important in order to help us reflect on what we have done, to celebrate on our wins and to also improve upon our shortcomings for next time.
The highlight of this final week was the closing event where we got to present our project, what we have done with it, our struggles and our wins. It was really nice to be able to share what we have done as it is something that I extremely proud of. We went above and beyond and chose to expand our project to make it more enriching and to help Nidaria in the best possible way by presenting them with more things that we wanted to carry out to help them with. It was a nice way to close our project and to look back and celebrate what we have accomplished. It was nice to be able to award our volunteers with a certificate and congratulate them for all their hard work. We would not have been able to accomplish as much as we did had it not been for their efforts.
