What happens when an entire program, from leadership design to last-mile delivery, is run by women?

This year and last, apart from a few wonderful male hosts and drivers, every aspect of CraftHER by Swara - Voice of Women was powered entirely by women.

Women led the program design.

Women facilitated in the field.

Women ran the partner organisations, artisan collectives, and leadership sessions.

Women told the stories, hosted the spaces, and shaped the learning.

The result?

A program environment where collaboration was instinctive, empathy was a strength, and problem-solving was a group effort, not siloed.

Our six-week journey across four locations in Kerala brought together:
💫 CraftHER Scholars from around the world, bringing fresh ideas and curiosity.
💫 Rural women entrepreneurs leading enterprises in craft, agriculture, and social impact.
💫 Expert facilitators and leaders who have shaped movements and built communities.

It’s easy to think of leadership as a title, a role, or a set of skills.

But this year, I was reminded again that leadership is also a culture. And the culture you create shapes the learning that’s possible.

CraftHER 2025 proved, once again, that when women lead at every level, the bridge between worlds is built stronger and wider.
