Participating in the Laidlaw Conference was a deeply enriching experience that left me both inspired and optimistic about the future. 

Presenting my research on the role of dopamine in psychomotor retardation was a significant milestone. Preparing for and delivering my poster presentation gave me a new sense of pride in the work we have done -- I could not be more grateful to have such an amazing supervisor and fellow scholars on the project! Beyond my presentation, the conference was filled with moments of profound learning.  The panel sessions underscored the power of interdisciplinary thinking and the importance of blending creativity with empathy to address societal challenges. 

One of the most uplifting aspects of the conference was witnessing the intelligence, passion, and kindness of my peers. It was heartening to see so many individuals from my generation tackling complex issues with a deep sense of purpose. The experience has left me more motivated than ever to pursue my own work with curiosity and dedication. It also reminded me of the importance of connecting with others in fostering progress—whether through research, or leadership.
