Armita is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences undecided on her major. Her main interest is women’s health and her research focuses on understanding the cross-cultural implications of diet on women’s menstrual health. She writes “Growing up immersed in both Iranian and American culture has cultivated my interest in how different lifestyles have such a profound impact on our health and wellbeing. As well, I knew I wanted to make a ripple in the water and progress the women’s health industry to mitigate the discrepancy surrounding research within the field.”

Armita is from Raleigh, North Carolina. Her favorite hobbies include food blogging, swimming, traveling, and yoga. She writes, “my dad has had a heavy influence on my curiosity in trying new things, and I believe it’s paved the way for a lot of my random (so-to-speak) hobbies. My parents’ road to success inspires me to navigate my interests to craft my own career path that draws parallels with my deepest passions: while I am not entirely sure what that path will look like, I am very excited, a little nervous, and very hopeful of what the journey will entail!”
