My summer 2025 research project was in Pure Mathematics, specifically Algebraic Graph Theory. I studied pseudo-similar vertices in graphs and digraphs using inverse semigroups.
I completed my LiA in summer 2026 with the Timothy Smith Network, acting as an instructor in web design for the Boston Design Academy in Boston, USA.
Hello! I'm Fraser, a second-year biochemistry student at the University of Leeds. My main passion is biochemistry, but my interests extend across science and philosophy. I am ever-curious and love to learn and debate with my friends.
The research project I will be embarking on this summer is titled: "Reimagining Electrophysiology Teaching for Neuroscience Undergraduates through a Design-Thinking Approach." I chose this project because I understand the importance of proper education in understanding and advancing science. The ineffectual education of complex scientific themes, like the brain, leads to misconceptions among the scientific community and the wider public. This can inhibit the advancements of science and impair related practices, such as the care of individuals suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.
In my free time, I love playing sports. My favourites include rugby, football and tennis, but I am always eager to try something new. I also enjoy listening to music, doing resistance training at the gym, playing my bass guitar, and being in nature.

I am a senior at the University of Hong Kong majoring in History and Korean Studies. I have always been deeply interested in issues related to migration, displacement, and refuge in East Asia.
I conducted a research titled "Bridging Policy and Community: How Government and Locals Shaped Refugee Experiences in 1990s Korea and 1960s Hong Kong" in 2025 for my first summer and looking forward, I want to equip myself with hands-on experience interacting with refugees to better understand their lived realities. To that end, I volunteered with Offene Arme in Chios, Greece, during the summer of 2026.

Hello! I'm an incoming PhD student at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, I earned my HBSc at the University of Toronto, studying biology, anthropology, and business.
For my first summer research, I examined what environmental variables influenced sleep patterns in children located in the Republic of Congo. I will be extending this research, with a focus on how sleep is affected with the extent of market integration.
I've done research ranging from biomedical physics to pedagogy studies. I'm very passionate about interdisciplinary research, and currently have many research projects intersecting numerous aspects.
For my Leadership-in-Action project, I was in a tiny island in Japan called Yoron, There, I helped out as an Assistant Language Teacher, piloted a Pen Pal project, and helping the science camp students affiliated with the University of Tokyo by teaching academic writing and by extension, academic presentation skills. The last goal was an extension of research I conducted with another professor outside of Laidlaw, on pedagogical implications of expert writers' citation practices. I would also like to take this time firsthand to understand cultural differences in academic writing.

My Summer 1 research was concerned with representations of space, place, and utopianism in the literature of Fire Island 1940-2000. I was interested in exploring how contrasting authors handled ideas and constructions of 'gay paradise' as a means to interogate the nature of queer utopian desire(s) in America at this pivotal period in LGBTQ+ history.
My Summer 2 'Leadership-in-Action' saw me flying to Cape Town, South Africa to volunteer at SOS Children's Village in Thornton. I designed and delivered a six-week dance movement therapy based psychosocial intervention for orphaned, abandoned, and precariously housed children.
I am a lover of sacred music and a member of multiple choirs. My hobbies also include swimming in the sea and watching good television.
