Today marks the final day of the first part of the Laidlaw Programme – the Oxford Research Summer. 

The week started off with an exciting talk about our Leadership in Action project for next summer. While dealing with the practicalities of the project, and providing us with vital information on our options, it sparked a conversation about what SDGs we were each passionate about, and what we each hope to work on next summer. 

Our final report has been coming together nicely. With help from our Graduate Impact Advisor, we've managed to refine some sections, ensuring that we remain clear and relevant to our intended outcomes. 

My main task this week was to work on conducting multiple linear regressions on our data. It provided an opportunity to refresh my memory, casting my mind back to the dreaded 'Introduction to Statistics' course I took in first year. The regressions uncovered some interesting stories about our data, which I'm excited to explore in our report. 

Although I've had a great time this summer, I can't say I'm not looking forward to returning home and relaxing! I've been able to develop my understanding of the importance of teamwork and communication, and I'm looking forward to taking this skills abroad during my LiA.

I hope to stay in contact with my team over the coming weeks to refine our project so we're ready to present at the Laidlaw Scholars Conference in October!
