In my sixth week, I finished the body of my report for my LiA project, and began working with the editorial team to begin the process of making my work publishable to ISD standards! At this point, my work was mostly done, and my main tasks were now just responding to the questions and edits put on my report by my colleagues.

This final week included more theatre, time with friends before I left, and time with my family from Toronto! One of my friends, who had grown up in the UK, had talked about a young adult novel series which was popular among tween students, called Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman. When we were looking for stuff to do together before I left London, we found a stage adaptation of the first book being done in an outdoor theatre! It was a great show, and a great sendoff to these newly-developed friendships (at least when it comes to seeing each other regularly in person).

As a celebration for their anniversary, my parents wanted to take themselves on a trip to different parts of Europe, and they made sure that their first stop was London in my final week of my LiA! Showing them around my favourite spots in London felt like a great summary to the places I had been, the restaurants I loved, and the people I became close to during the prior 5 weeks. I am so thankful that they were able to spend this time with me (even if my mom was deeply concerned about how small my flat was – that’s London rents for you).
