Week 4 - Implementation and Testing
Week 4 was defined by new proposals and opportunities towards long term, sustainable solutions for the women artisans of cantagallo. Our team worked hard to establish a partnership with the Selina hotel, organizing a fair to display and sell the community's beautiful handcrafted artwork. This collaboration could potentially evolve into a monthly event, offering a consistent income stream and increased visibility for their crafts.
Additionally, we proposed the idea of selling the artisans craft at Selina full time in the lobby/ reception. This initially was received with hesitations, however, after we proposed a substantial contract and delivery, Selina hotel became receptive to the long term partnership. In the proposal, we provided : Artwork History/Info: background on the techniques and traditions behind the crafts, with a special focus on Kene, the intricate and culturally significant designs of the Shipibo-Conibo tribe. Cultural Significance: Emphasizing the rich cultural heritage and the importance of these crafts to the Cantagallo community. Information on Shipibo-Conibo Tribe/Cantagallo: Offering insights into the community's history and their transition from the Peruvian jungle to Lima.Marketing Materials: Developing promotional materials, including photos and potentially a QR code linking to social media.
In addition, week 4 was the beginning of our proposal testing- adding more nutritious foods to the kids daily diet, including new fruits + vegetables. Overall, the kids were receptive and enjoyed the additional fruits and vegetables.
By the end of week 4, new foods were introduced to the kids and the art fair was finalized .
