LiA Blog 2 - Engaging with Challenges
This week we launched our survey and began receiving responses. The excitement of seeing participation was accompanied by the challenge of managing expectations—numbers rose more slowly than some team members hoped.
As a leader, I had to address both the practical and emotional aspects of the situation. Practically, I encouraged us to expand distribution channels—reaching out to student groups, societies, and personal networks. Emotionally, I reminded the team that impact is not always measured by scale, but by depth: even a small set of honest responses can be powerful in advocacy.
I learned the importance of resilience and positivity. My role was to keep morale high without downplaying concerns. Our impact this week lay in raising awareness: each share of the survey was itself an act of advocacy, beginning conversations about menstrual equity within our circles.
