During my time in Vietnam for my Leadership in Action, I worked on with VACEP (Vietnam Adverse Childhood Events Pathfinders). In this time, we worked with the SCDI (Center for Supporting Community Development Initiatives), a local organization working to combat poverty and AIDs through community initiatives. I worked with the Mitigation Team along with fellow Cornell peer, Abby Overstrom, and two VinUniversity students, Tranh Huyen and Ngyuen Thu.  We were able to talk to multiple non-profits and clientele that work with the SCDI.  We were able to gain important insights into developing a program that would be possible for the organizations and accessible to the community that it would benefit. From all out research and field work, our team developed the Connecting the Dots initiative (Kết nối những mảnh vỡ). The purpose of this initiative is to empower survivors of adverse childhood events to tell their story and eventually become engaged members in their community. The below intervention was proposed to a group of local non-profits in Vietnam.  The presentation was translated from English to Vietnamese, but below is the English version. I am very excited and proud to present this work.  The theory and literature behind this work is in a manuscript but it is not attached here. And many interviews and discussions with stakeholders molded this intervention to work for its community.
