The last few weeks were filled with lots of fun and lots of work, but now my Mexico adventure has finally come to a bittersweet end.

The last two weeks in Mexico City were filled with lots of hard work and long days, but it has been exciting to see all of our research and planning come together into a final deliverable.

Using our user research, we composed a detailed user manual, outlining the platform's functions and the procedures for tracking materials received from donors. This manual served as the foundation for our training sessions, where we introduced the staff to the platform's purpose and guided them through each of its functions to ensure they understood how to use it effectively.

To cater to the diverse needs of the staff, we tailored the training programs for each team. For the sorting team, we focused on the processes they would frequently use to track and manage incoming materials. The communication team received specific instructions on how to input and update data accurately to maintain clear and effective communication channels. For the quality control team, we emphasized the importance of the digital stamp feature, which allows them to sign off on materials that meet the required standards before they proceed to the next stage of sorting.

It is incredible to see how much we have been able to achieve in the past 6 weeks, especially considering that the work of Rennueva was a complete unknown to us at the beginning. Not only have we learned about plastic recycling and the design thinking process, we have also developed our skills in consulting, graphic design and project management. It is especially rewarding seeing all of this culminate in something tangible that will help Rennueva staff work more efficiently going forwards so they can achieve more for the planet through their amazing recycling efforts.

As for the cultural side, one of the most memorable experiences of the past few weeks was waking up at 3 AM for a hot air balloon ride over the Teotihuacan pyramids. Despite the early start, it was one of the most beautiful experiences I've had. Floating above the ancient pyramids at sunrise offered breathtaking views It was also fascinating to walk around the pyramids after the balloon ride, and see them up close. We also had the chance to visit Huerto Roma Verde, where the team working there gave us a tour of the site and we learned about how they are helping to bring the community together and promote sustainable and environmentally friendly actions such as composting and recycling. The site is also a beautiful place and inspired and surrounded by nature.

I am sad that these 6 weeks have finally come to an end, but I will move onto the next chapter of my life with so much wisdom and inspiration to use the skills I have learned to continue to make changes around me, whether big or small. I am so grateful to have had this amazing opportunity and to have met all of the incredible people involved in the programme. The memories and lessons of this trip will stay with me forever.
