LiA Project Report
As part of my second summer in the Undergraduate Leadership and Research Program, I completed my LiA with Think Pacific. I spent six weeks living with a host family in an indigenous village in Fiji while on a community and health expedition. Our project involved building a medical dispensary with support from the Ministry of Health for the two settlements we stayed with, delivering mental health workshops alongside Youth Champs 4 Mental Health, conducting a community health day organized by Diabetes Fiji for the settlements and surrounding villages, and taking part in a culture course as requested by the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs. This report describes how we completed each aim while on project and what we accomplished during our time in Fiji.
