Audrea, this was such a good read. I find the reframing of the speed bump sign so creative and, while subtle, incredibly powerful, presenting the act of slowing down as a "public ethic." I have never thought of speed bumps to apply to people, but this is a beautiful and apt metaphor for, well, slowing down.

Alex, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. Your supervisor sounds incredible—and wow, an eight-hour conversation! That is amazing. I can also see how your perspective as a computer science and economics major complements the NGO's work in a meaningful way. And your host family sounds so impressive and welcoming. Thank you for sharing such a detailed and engaging blog. You have to let us know how triathlon training was with you host mom's crew.

This sounds absolutely amazing. I particularly love your pedagogical approach to teaching poetry and how intentional you were with your lesson on Sappho. Wonderful selection BTW!
