Hello! I've been part of the Laidlaw Foundation for over 4 years, working on strengthening our global community and broadening our initiatives aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty, reducing inequality, and cultivating a new generation of leaders.
I'm currently completing a Masters in Anthropology & Professional Practice at UCL, delving into my passion for using ethnographic methods and design to effect systemic change, particularly in the education sector. My journey in design has been diverse, beginning with graphic design, transitioning into UX/UI and service design, and now evolving into systemic design and innovation.
Originally from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, I pursued my undergraduate degree in Human Sciences at UCL. I'm an amateur naturalist, avid swimmer, and an obsessive podcast listener. Let's connect and chat—drop me a line and find me on LinkedIn! 💬👀
Currently, a student majoring in Financial Technology at HKU. Areas of interest include finance, economics, politics, and Web 3.
Hi! My name is Aryan Ghotra, an undergraduate at Columbia studying biology. My research is on ER proteostasis and how the cell regulates the accumulation of unfolded proteins.
Hello everyone! My name is Rachel and I am currently a third-year Biomedical Engineering Student at UCL. My research experience with Laidlaw was centred around an imaging technique called photoacoustic imaging, which is a novel technique using laser-induced sound waves to provide highly-detailed images of the structure of our bodies. I am very passionate about medtech, environmental sustainability design and technology-- let's chat!
Hi, I am Natalie Magness, a first-year Human Sciences student at University College London interested in biological anthropology and social entrepreneurship. I am a strong believer that seeing humans through both a biological and social-cultural perspective will bring us closer to solving our biggest global issues.
I am a Malaysian of a Chinese and Eurasian ethnicity and was fortunate enough to have been raised in Qatar, an extremely diverse nation. This third-culture identity has moulded me into a global citizen passionate about connecting with others but also has exposed me to the different hardships and injustices others face, reinforcing me desire to use my privilege to help others.
Thank you for your time!
I am a History Undergraduate at University College London and a Laidlaw Scholar. My research project was on a conservation NGO in the UK and my follow-up worked with the American Bird Conservancy to produce a chapter for an upcoming eBook on People and Birds.
I am interested in how to make our connections to nature stronger through Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work.
I am fascinated by the power of being grounded in a place. That is the stories that we tell ourselves and the power of those narratives on how we act.
