Hi, my name is Amber and I'm a year two psychology student at the University of Hong Kong. I spent my first summer at University of Leeds. My research project aims to identify features of boardgames that can predict its reading difficulty. We attempt to create a formula so that laymen can use it to grade boardgames and choose the appropriate game that balances entertainment and learning. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in my research project, or anything about psychology!
Hi, I'm Hin, a year 3 student at The University of Hong Kong. I major in Psychology and Neuroscience, and will be conducting my research project at HKU's LKS Faulty of Medicine. The project aims to investigate the efficacy of gamified inter-professional education in the promotion of knowledge co-construction in the context of cancer treatment.
In my free time, I like to catch up on recent neuroscience literature and draft up research proposals with friends. I also enjoy singing and drawing, and have a few vids on YouTube! Oh, and if I am not fatigued from work, I sometimes code for fun (mostly in Python, but not a pro). I usually rework my code in previous projects, optimise them or find new ways to write them...... and if I am really, really free......maybe start a new project????
I'd love to connect with anyone who loves doing research, creating or listening to music, and starting fun projects because of that cool idea that popped up in a daydream.
Hi! Having previously been a Laidlaw Undergraduate Scholar studying English Literature at UCL, I am now the Marketing Manager of the Laidlaw Foundation.
My research looked at collaborative and innovative practices in academic publishing, and community building is something I built a passion for during my Leadership in Action. Feel free to reach out or connect with me!
I am a second year undergraduate at Durham University studying sociology. Through my Laidlaw Scholarship, I worked with Dr Michelle Addison and three other students in order to complete the research project 'Imposter Syndrome in the Classroom: What are the impacts on students' learning experiences and how can academic practice be improved?'. For my second summer as a Laidlaw Scholar, I was selected by MakeSense to complete a Leadership in Action project in Marseille, France.
Currently a second-year medical student at the University of St Andrews, with an interest in medical ethics and humanities.
Hi! My name is Ethan McDowell, and I am a rising Senior at Brown University concentrating in Computer Science and Visual Art. I love to make art, with a focus in sculpture, but in my free time, I've been painting and drawing to prepare for my upper-level studios this fall! I'm in love with the outdoors, and I'm a plant dad at heart. My current research is focused on an app development project for the Brown Arts Institute (BAI) where we are trying to streamline scheduling and administrative tasks for BAI workers/getting them connected with other BAI opportunities!
Hey! My name is Jemma and I am a 4th year business student at Trinity College Dublin. Throughout my studies so far I have found an interest in business sustainability and the ethical considerations in business practice. The balance between government intervention and business leadership in the strive for a sustainable future is one that fascinates me.
My research project is focused on the environmental and social certifications available in the sustainable fashion industry and how these can be improved to consider the accessibility of the industry. After all, every person, regardless of budget wears clothes and should have access to information detailing the impact of their purchases.
I grew up in Bahrain and Singapore where I studied at UWCSEA before moving home to Northern Ireland. I love going on sea swims and walks with friends, I have recently picked up running like the rest of the world and I love food and cooking. A side interest of mine is looking into the impacts of the food industry on public health and the environment. My favourite podcasts are A Diary of a CEO and the Huberman Lab podcast, my music taste is all over the place, I like a bit of everything.
