Week two research update

Here is a graph of the XRF results from scanning core section 4/8 for any traces of Manganese. Manganese survives in anoxic conditions and thus corresponds to the anoxic layers within the core. These layers appear to have some forams present within them.

Week one research update

In week one of my research, we split the Baltic Sea core, took samples and began to look into the samples to see if there were any abundances of forams present in the core layers. The initial samples we took were 20g samples from 1cm wide sections.
