This week, we're continuing the celebration of Pride Month 🏳️🌈 and celebrating Juneteenth by featuring a quote from Roxane Gay!
Roxane Gay (1974-) is an American writer, professor and social commentator. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Gay began writing at a young age. She completed degrees at Norwich University, the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and Michigan Technological University.
She first published a short story collection titled Ayiti in 2011. This was followed by the novel An Untamed State and the essay collection Bad Feminist in 2014. She has since published several novels, essays and short stories. Her work is best known for analysing and deconstructing feminist and racial issues through her personal experiences of race, gender identity and sexuality. Gay also contributes her opinion pieces to The New York Times.
