What went well?

I felt really connected to the clients I met with. They were very generous in how much they chose to share which helped to build more robust cases.

What could have been done differently?

I should’ve check-in with myself more. This week was very draining and several client narratives intersected with various facets of my own identity. It was hard to process and integrate.

What did I learn about myself while working with others?

I learned how much of the work of legal services requires a client to have so much vulnerability. It’s a great privilege to speak with clients and develop a plan together that serves them best.

What did I learn about leadership?

Sometimes leaders need to step back and find good substitutes to ensure everyone receives the best service they are owed.

What do I want to focus on or develop next?

I really want to have more concrete ways of processing the mental toll that sometimes comes with doing good work.
