On March 26th, I attended the British Association of Oral Surgeons 2026 Conference to give an oral presentation on my Laidlaw Research Project, “Feasibility of Confocal Fluorescence Microscopy with OsteoImage for Assessing Bone Mineralisation.”

As this was my first scientific oral presentation, I was quite nervous beforehand. Still, once I started presenting, it became a really enjoyable experience and a fantastic opportunity to share the work I had been involved in.

Later that day, I was delighted to discover that I had been awarded 1st place in the “Research Category” for my oral presentation. It was a huge surprise that truly made my day!

I would like to give a huge thank you to my supervisor, Joel Turner, for introducing me to basic science research and for all of his support throughout the project, as well as to the Laidlaw Foundation for funding this opportunity and making the project possible! :)
