Introduction to Laidlaw 2025: Moment to Celebrate

Say No to Giving Up! Despite of having depressing time applying for this programme last year, I found a light in the mist of temptation and intimidation to re-apply. Undeniably, second time is a charm and the conclusion of this journey is enthralling but yet demanding.

I am proud to have been selected as a Laidlaw Scholar at University of Leeds and what makes me so honoured is that this is my second time application. Let’s delve into my journey of applying the programme.

I want to start my appreciation post with ‘Thank you Laidlaw Foundation!’

The Laidlaw Scholars Leadership and Research Programme creates an international network of diverse, passionate and ethical leaders who will reinvest their skills, knowledge and experience to help others succeed. I'm excited to join this community of change-makers from all over the world, and to develop my research and leadership skills. As a Laidlaw Scholar, I hope to make a positive impact in my community and beyond, and to be a part of creating systemic change for a more equitable future.

I want to celebrate this moment to everyone: my peers and lecturers who have motivationally supported me! Shoutout to Zijian Ng and Cothney T. Lasaracina for helping me out of my confusion and doubt. To Girish Kale, Nicole Hondow, Manoj Ravi and Siti Ibrahim, I am so grateful knowing all of you for your kindness, inspiration and passion that keeps my motivation up!

In my last words, thank you to Employability Team in Engineering and Physical Science (EPS) Faculty, especially to Lynn Johnson for mock interview, industrial advices and insight!

I am happy! Alhamdulillah, syukran Allah.
