Project Outline: An Assessment of the Environmental Viability of the Ecotourism Model within Boracay Island, Philippines
This is a brief overview of my research project. This project concerns the efficacy of the emerging ecotourism model present on Boracay Island in the Philippines. It holds specific focus to the environmental impacts of tourism, and how we can potentially mitigate them along coastal ecosystems.
Project Outline: Studying Changes in Astrocyte Function in Disease Pathology
I will be investigating the role of astrocytes, in the progression of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. I am particularly interested in understanding how inflammation outside the brain can exacerbate inflammatory and damaging events within the brain.
Project Outline: The Right to a Healthy Environment in Ireland - A Contribution
This summer, I will research the right to a healthy environment through comparative constitutional analysis of both South Africa and other European jurisdictions. The aim is to investigate the nature and shape of the right, and how it can be used by individuals to fight climate change.
