Hi, I'm Carys a second year studying Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
My interests mainly lie in public health, preventive medicine and infectious diseases, however I find all aspects of clinical and community healthcare interesting. I am interested in potential research into antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and other pressing global issues, and seeing how we can ensure access to appropriate healthcare systemically by reducing inequalities.
This summer I completed my Leadership in Action project with the Red Hen Project in Cambridge - a charity dedicated to helping children and families facing hardship. The charity hopes to expand to a deprived region in Cambridge and I evaluated the current services available for children, and where the charity can create the most long standing impact. The project focussed on preventative measures to ensure children can live happier and healthier lives by reducing barriers they may face. This project solidified my current hope to work in paediatrics or public health.
Undergraduate Historian at the University of Cambridge. Keen interest in Social Justice, Democracy and Representation, Electoral Politics and Political Economy. Founder of Per Capita Media - Journalism, for all.
Hi, I'm Jia En (Chloe), a first year Pscyhological and Behavioural Sciences in University of Cambridge.
Hi! I'm Lauren, a first year Biology student at Cambridge, with a particular interest in Biochemistry and Physiology.
This has inspired my LiA, looking into how the Social Determinants of Health are being addressed locally in Cambridge by The Red Hen Project - a local charity working to support families experiencing hardship to raise happy, health, and independent children. Working alongside the charity has exposed me to the stark health inequalities that exist even within Cambridge, strengthening my passion for public health and inspiring me to pursue a career focused on improving outcomes for children, families, and communities.
I'm an Engineering undergraduate at the University of Cambridge with research interests in biomedical engineering, assistive technology, medical devices and systems engineering. I enjoy applying engineering principles to address real-world healthcare challenges through interdisciplinary research and rapid prototyping.
My technical experience includes embedded systems (ESP32 and Arduino), electronics design, CAD and mechanical design (SolidWorks), 3D printing, sensor integration, mobile application development and human-centred engineering. I am particularly interested in combining hardware, software and control systems to develop intelligent biomedical technologies.
In the long term, I hope to contribute to research in physiological monitoring, closed-loop medical systems, artificial organs and advanced biomedical devices, bridging engineering innovation with clinical applications.
My name is Rosalind and I'm a first year student in psychology at the University of Cambridge. I am particularly interested in the interection between physical and mental health and how psychological and neurological processes can impact somatic functions. Another major interest of mine is the maintenance of mental health recovery, and how post-acute care in communities and systems can support the longevity of recovery and prevent relapse.
After a year of studying English Literature at the University of Cambridge, I have recently changed degree to History of Art. I undertook my LiA project at Cambridge Junction, a charity, social enterprise and leading cultural venue in Cambridge, UK.
