Hi! I study Social Policy at LSE and am very, very passionate about intersectional liberation! I run LSESU Student Action for Refugees by day, a prison law caseworker by night, and a Chinese takeaway manager on other nights. This summer I'm a Commissioning Officer at Essex County Council doing participatory research to develop new domestic violence prevention policy - an area I'm extremely passionate about.  One day I hope to be a lawyer (no idea which area, anywhere from commercial to public inquiries) as I'm sure many other Laidlaw(y)ers are.  Always happy to chat about 'irregular' migration, dance, pole fitness, and connect with like-minded people. (If you want to go to RBO to watch ballet or pole hire with me please get in contact!) Have the best day if you're reading this xx

LLB Student, London School of Economics and Political Science (LLB)

Hey! My name is Eleni, I’m 21 years old, and I come from the beautiful island of Cyprus. I study Law, but I'm not confined to its boundaries. I am passionate about post-colonial reconstruction and intersectional justice. Outside my studies, I find joy in quiet corners. Whether it's losing myself in a book (currently Elena Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend), picking up drawing again, or experimenting with new recipes, I try to make everyday life a tad more mindful.

Rucha Benare (she/her)

Biomedical engineering research student, Trinity College Dublin

I am interested in the fields of mechanobiology, biohybrid prosthetics, biophysics, Jungian psychology, and philosophy. Recently in association with Laidlaw; In Cornell University (N.Y, U.S.A.) I worked on curating an art book on biomechanics for charity to raise awareness in this field of science. And in Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), we worked on developing a microphysiological model of the osteocytic network in the bone that can be used to better understand the (patho)physiology of bone using Direct Laser Writing technology using MLO-Y4 cell culture.  On the side; In ETH Zürich (Switzerland), I was working on understanding bio-hybrid muscle actuators using C2C12 cell culture by amassing literature review, designing biobot unit, and conducting biocompatibility tests along with growing and differentiating muscle cells for further electrical stimulation. At DogPatch Labs's Patch (Dublin, Ireland) I was experimenting with creating a start-up company to help amputees get affordable prosthetics.  On the (other) side; I like to dance, write, and read anything I get my hands on; be it music, poetry, or even shampoo bottles. Please feel free to contact me here or on LinkedIn for any discussions regarding the aforementioned topics!
